Fifteen Minutes of Fame Stage Goes Virtual

Are you a self-published writer? A poet? A songwriter in search of an audience? The Monroeville Literary Festival has a stage for you! Monroeville is the Literary Capital of Alabama, and we want to showcase talent from across the state on the Fifteen Minutes of Fame Virtual Stage!

"Last year's lineup was a great hit and we discovered several talented folks who will now be long term friends of the Festival," says Festival director, Alisha Linam Bowen. "We are excited to offer this opportunity again, albeit virtually to keep our audience safe."

Interested writers should record a 15 minutes or less video of themselves performing their own original work. The video should include an introduction, as well as a brief discussion of the work. Videos over 15 minutes will not be accepted, and all videos must be uploaded to a publicly hosted site such as YouTube or Vimeo. Links to videos should be emailed to MonroevilleLiteraryFestival@gmail.com by February 19 at 5pm. A jury will announce the winners during the week of February 22, and links to the videos will be shared via the Festival's social media and website.

The Monroeville Literary Festival is a project of Coastal Alabama Community College. It is made possible by funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Alabama State Council on the Arts. Sponsors include George Landegger, Dianne Lawson Baker, and the Georgia Pacific Foundation.

The virtual Monroeville Literary Festival will be held on March 4-6, 2021. To register, please visit www.monroevilleliteraryfestival.com .
